Privacy Policy

The short version
Your answers stay in your browser. We only have your email address if you give it to us: to keep a result or a quarter (you sign in with it), or to buy the full profile (Stripe collects it at checkout). Keeping a result is your choice, and it keeps a summary of your shape, never your answers.
We do use the Meta Pixel, which tells Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram) that you visited and what you did here — like starting the assessment or reaching your results. It never sends your answers or your pattern. We use it to see whether anything we post or advertise brings real people here.
We also use Google Analytics, to see which posts send people here and whether they stay to read. It sees the pages you visit, never your answers or your pattern.
What stays in your browser
Your answers. Your answers to the 18 questions, and to the optional question at the end, are kept in your browser's session storage so your results page can show your pattern. The answers themselves are never sent to our servers or anyone else's, and they're gone when you close the tab.
Your Quarter, before you sign in. What you write in Your Quarter stays in your browser's local storage until you sign in to save it. If you never sign in, we never receive it.
Your Quarter, once you save it
Your account. To keep a quarter you sign in with your email address. We email you a code; there is no password. The account is held by Supabase, our database host, and is how your quarter follows you from one device to another.
What you write. Your quarter is stored with Supabase under your account. Only this site's own server reads it, to show it back to you. What you write is never used in marketing and never quoted. Quarters you kept only in this browser before accounts existed move to your account the first time you sign in here.
Counts. We count that a quarter was started, that a note was added, and that a quarter was scored. A count holds a kind and a time, nothing you wrote and nothing that points back to you.
Emails. If you leave the box ticked, Resend sends three kinds of email for us: a copy of your quarter when you save it (the only one with your words in it), one question a month, and one when the 90 days are up. Each has a link that stops them with one click.
Deleting it. “Delete my quarter” deletes it from the database, with everything written in it. To delete your account as well, contact us and we'll remove it and any quarters left under it.
Your purchase. Your first quarter is free. To see whether you can start another, we ask Stripe whether the email on your account has bought the full profile. If you buy it from Your Quarter, the checkout is filled in with that email.
Your seasons, if you keep a result
What is kept. If you press “Keep this result”, we keep the date, your pattern, where you landed on each of the three tensions (a number from 1 to 5), and your answer to the optional question at the end. Not your 18 answers. It's what lets the next result show you what moved.
Where. With Supabase, under the same account Your Quarter uses, signed in with an emailed code. Only this site's own server reads it, to show it back to you. It is never used in marketing and never counted per person.
Deleting it. “Forget this one” deletes one kept result. “Delete all of it” deletes every one. Deleting your account deletes them too.
Your purchase. The whole read of a shift comes with the full profile. Once you have two kept results, we ask Stripe whether the email on your account has bought it. If you buy it from Your seasons, the checkout is filled in with that email.
What leaves your browser
Meta Pixel. The Meta Pixel sets a cookie and sends Meta the pages you visit here, plus these moments: starting the assessment, finishing each set of six questions, finishing it, whether you answered or skipped the final optional question, reaching your results, clicking to buy, buying, and how you share your result (which network, or copying the link or saving the image). With each one Meta receives your IP address and browser details, and may connect it to a Facebook or Instagram account you're logged into. That is cross-site tracking, and Meta uses it under its own privacy policy. None of these events include your answers or your pattern.
Google Analytics. Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) so it can tell a returning visit from a new one. It sends Google the pages you visit here, where the visit came from (the site, or the tag on a link we posted), how long you stayed, your device and browser, and an approximate location worked out from your IP address. The page addresses it sends are trimmed to the page itself, so nothing from your answers, your results, or your purchase goes with them. It never receives your answers or your pattern. Google uses it under its own privacy policy.
Vercel Analytics. Our host counts page visits — the page, where the visit came from, country, device, browser, and operating system — to show us totals. It doesn't use cookies. Vercel Speed Insights also measures how fast pages load for you.
Hosting. Like any website, the servers that deliver these pages see your IP address and browser details when they send you a page.
Fonts. The site's typefaces are served from this site, not from Google. One exception: if you download your full profile as a PDF, the print page that opens loads its fonts from Google, so your browser sends Google your IP address and browser details at that point.
Payments. If you buy the full profile, Stripe handles checkout and collects your email address and card details. Our Stripe account shows us your email, the purchase, your card's brand and last four digits, and its country — never the full card number. We also attach the name of your pattern to the order, so we can see which patterns people buy. That is the only place anything from your results is shared.
Already bought it. If you're signed in when you reach your results, we ask Stripe whether the email on your account has bought the full profile, so nobody who paid is asked to pay again. That question carries your email and nothing from your results.
What we don't do
We don't sell your information. We don't show ads on this site. We don't send your answers anywhere, and apart from attaching your pattern to a purchase, we don't use your results for anything other than showing them to you. The only email we send is about a quarter you asked to be emailed about. We don't have a marketing list.
Your choices
You can block the Meta Pixel with your browser's tracking protection or a content blocker, and the assessment works exactly the same. You can control how Meta uses activity from other sites in your Meta ad preferences. You can block Google Analytics the same way, or with Google's opt-out browser add-on. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes your answers, anything in Your Quarter you haven't saved yet, the Pixel's cookie, and the Google Analytics cookies. A saved quarter or a kept result stays with your account until you delete it.
